It’s being described as “Disney World for foodies.” Ready to book your ticket?
If you thought Disney World introducing wine slushies to the menu was cool—then you’re going to love this. FICO Eataly World is a “theme park” entirely devoted to food.
So is it the best thing ever? You better believe it.
It’s opening up in Bologna, Italy, this November, and entrance into the park is free. So you only have to cover the costs of food within the park plus that pesky cost of airfare to Italy. From the sounds of it, that plane ticket will be well worth it!
The park will be the world’s largest agri-food park, and while yes, the focus will be on delicious food, it’s not just about eating. It’s about learning the intricacies of food systems.
According to the park’s mission statement, the goal of FICO Eataly World is to “tell the story of Italian agri-food culture combining local tradition, high-quality food, and the expertise of those who have always been working in the agri-food chains. All of this under one roof.”
On the grounds, there will be farms, restaurants and more. Eataly World has been sharing glimpses of the park’s progress via social media.
Not only will you be able to see the cows that made the dairy products you’re about to eat, you’ll also be able to purchase fresh foods there to make a meal at home or have one of their chefs prepare the food for you.
So much of eating is about experience, and that’s what this place will provide. A space where you can create whatever eating experience you’d like for your palate.
In other words, this place is a foodie’s delight.
Or, as one Twitter user called it: “the Disney World of Italian food.”
If Disney World is the happiest place on Earth, then Eataly World is certainly going to be the most delicious place on Earth. It officially opens on Nov. 15, so plan your travels accordingly.
