Will & Grace: Revival Series Ordered at NBC

Will & Grace is officially returning to NBC!

NBC announced the return of the iconic series at the TCA winter press tour and we’re pretty darn excited about it.

Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes will return to the hit NBC series for a 10-episode limited run.

NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt said in a statement confirming the return of the classic comedy:

“We’re thrilled that one of the smartest, funniest, and most defining comedies in NBC history is coming back.”

“This groundbreaking series for everything from gay rights to social and political commentary – all disguised as a high-speed train of witty pop culture – is coming back where it belongs.”

Original series creators and showrunners Max Mutchnick and David Kohan and director/producer James Burrows will be at the hem.

Says Mutchnick: “Dave and I are absolutely thrilled about the opportunity to write what Will, Grace, Jack and Karen are thinking about in 2017.”

Said President of NBC Entertainment Jennifer Salke:

“We started talking with Mutchnick and Kohan about producing new episodes right after they shot the secret reunion show back in September.”

“And the fact that all four of the original stars were excited about getting back into production is a testament to the joyful experience they had doing nearly 200 episodes for eight seasons.”

“Few things cut through the clutter these days, especially in comedy, and Will and Grace is one of the best.”

Recently, Leslie Jordan let the cat out of the bag when spoke about the series, so it was just a matter of it becoming official.

The original series spanned eight seasons and won a total of 16 Emmy Awards throughout its time on the air.

On top of that, it secured a mammoth 83 nominations.

On the ratings front, the series was one of the highest rated sitcoms on TV.

There’s no word about when the series will actually hit the air, or how the characters would meet back up.
